Your Training Journey: Three Phases at Your Pace

Soul Surfing Training is a developmental process. Each phase provides value on its own. You can complete one, two, or all three phases, as quickly or as gradually as you like — and you can purchase each phase separately, or bundle Phase 1 and Phase 2 to save.

Foundational Training

Certified Psychedelic-Assisted Practitioner

Scope: Completion of Phase 1 Foundational Training and one personal experiential path (Path A, B, C, or D). This designation confirms training completion; it does not mean the practitioner has been evaluated or certified in the Soul Surfing model.

Soul Surfing Certified Practitioner

Scope: Completion of: requirements for certified psychedelic-assisted practitioners. Demonstration of care competence in providing Soul Surfing KAP to those clients, verified by observation of their work by a Soul Surfing Certified Consultant.

Soul Surfing Certified Consultant

Scope: Qualified to provide consultation to trainees in their certification protocol within their own field, provide consultation to other practitioners, and represent the model in research and training contexts. Certified Soul Surfing Practitioner in their field for two-plus years, plus the consultant track and core competencies evaluated by the Soul Surfing Consultant team.

After You Certify

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the full certification take?

We estimate that most trainees will complete the Soul Surfing Certification within nine to 15 months.

Soul Surfing Certification requires completion of:

Phase 1 Foundational Training: asynchronous coursework, the live online Soul Surfing Prep Course, breathwork experiences, and practitioner consultation.
Experiential training.
Demonstration of proficiency of Soul Surfing skills during monitoring and consultation from a certified Soul Surfing consultant.

Who is eligible to enroll?

The Practitioner Training is for licensed medical providers (MD, DO, NMD, ND, DC, DNP, CRNA, NP, PA) and licensed mental health clinicians (LMFTs, LPCs, LCSWs, CMHC, psychologists). Coaches are admitted to our certification process on a case-by-case basis upon completing an interview with Dr. Gold.

The certification protocol requires you to provide a client of your own to Soul Surfing KAP with live mentoring and consultation from a certified Soul Surfing consultant.

What if I am not able to legally administer ketamine?

Many trainees are not able to legally administer ketamine, but a certified Soul Surfing Practitioner can guide you on collaborative models that work in your state and license.

What if I miss a live online session?

Every Soul Surfing Prep Course and Practitioner Consultation session is recorded and available the next day. If you enroll mid-cohort, you can catch up on recordings and then attend the live versions when those sessions recur in the next cohort.

What if I do not pass the certification protocol?

Certification is not a guaranteed outcome. If proficiency is not yet evident after completing the required experiential training, mentorship, and work with one of your KAP clients, you may continue with additional supervised sessions or video review at the Consultant’s hourly rate. The goal is competence, not gatekeeping.

Do CE credits count?

Official CE credit availability and the final number of eligible credits vary by professional license. Contact us to confirm CE eligibility and the current credit total for your professional license; additional fees may apply.
