“Psychedelic-Assisted Practitioner” (earned in Phase 2) is not the same as “Soul Surfing Certified Practitioner” (earned in Phase 3). Phase 2 certifies you have done the personal medicine work and been trained in the Soul Surfing approach. Phase 3 certifies that your clinical work has been observed and evaluated, and that you have demonstrated the Soul Surfing Core Competencies with your own client.
Phase 1 — Foundational
You begin online with the same curriculum your clients and patients receive — plus the practitioner-specific training and group consultation that prepare you to deliver this work clinically.

Phase 2 — Experiential
You complete your own personal experiential work with the medicine before being evaluated on doing it with a client. You choose one of four paths. Completion earns your first directory designation: Soul Surfing Trained: Psychedelic-Assisted Practitioner.
All in-person experiential trainings are capped at 20 participants. Prerequisite: completion of the 3-Day Foundational Practitioner Training in Phase 1. The full detail of each path — including the explicit medicine protocol — is below.

This is where you demonstrate that you can fulfill the Soul Surfing Core Competencies in your own clinical work — receiving guidance, support, corrective feedback, and evaluation from a Certified Soul Surfing Consultant. Completion earns the Soul Surfing Certified Practitioner designation.

Important: The Consultant who supervises your Phase 3 protocol must be a different consultant than the one who facilitated your Phase 2 personal work. This keeps clean clinical boundaries — you are not evaluated by the same person who held space for your own healing.

Soul Surfing offers three public directory designations. Clients and other practitioners can see exactly which designation a clinician holds and what their scope of work includes. Certification and consultation are organized by field — Medical, Psychotherapy, or Coaching.
Earned when: Completed the 3-Day Foundational Training AND a personal experiential (Path A, B, C, or D).
Scope: Trained in the model and has done the personal medicine work. Has not yet been clinically evaluated providing the model to a client. Professional field (Medical / Psychotherapy / Coaching) is shown on the listing.
Earned when: All of the above, plus completion of the supervised certification protocol with one of their own clients and demonstrated proficiency in the core competencies.
Scope: Fully credentialed to offer Soul Surfing within the scope of their field. Clinical or supportive work has been reviewed and assessed.
Earned when: Certified Practitioner in their field for 2+ years, plus the Consultant track and core competencies evaluated and approved by Dr. Gold and the Soul Surfing Consultant body.
Scope: Qualified to supervise trainees in the certification protocol within their own field, provide consultation to other practitioners, and represent the model in research and training contexts.

Inaugural Online Cohort — Leading Up to the Foundational Training
The first cohort begins June 24, 2026. All live online sessions are conducted via Zoom and recorded for review.
Your investment has three parts: (1) the Foundational Training Package (same for everyone), (2) the In-Person Experiential (your chosen path, bundle with #1 to save $450–$600), and (3) the Certification Protocol (paid directly to your supervising Consultant as you complete the 18 hours).
1. Foundational Training Package
Founding (first 25 trainees): $2,100 · Standard: $2,550 — includes the 3-Day Foundational Training, 12-Week Prep Course, 6 bi-weekly group consultations, 3 breathwork sessions, lifetime access to recordings, and app access.
2. Bundle Discounts
Foundational + Path A (2.5-Day): Founding total $4,500 / Standard $6,000. Paths B and C: TBD. Fully refundable if cancelled within 2 months of the experiential start date, and can be deferred indefinitely.
3. Payment Options
Choose pay in full at the prices above, or split your tuition into three monthly payments (automatically charged each month). The 3-payment plan carries a small service fee of about 6% — for example, the Founding Online Foundational is $2,100 paid in full, or three payments of $750. A seat deposit (Online $500 · In-Person $750 · Bundle $1,000) reserves your founding-cohort spot and applies toward your tuition; it is refundable within 7 days. Enrollment is by application — once you are accepted, we send your enrollment documents and a secure payment link. Your certificate and Directory listing are issued once tuition is paid in full.
4. Certification Protocol Fees
Paid directly to your supervising Consultant. Dr. Lisa Gold: Founding $300/hr (first 25) / Standard $350/hr — Founding total $5,400 / Standard $6,300 for the 18 hours. Other Certified Consultants set their own rates. How you bill your own client for these real clinical sessions is your choice, disclosed to the client at the outset as standard informed-consent practice.
We offer a 30% Professional Collaboration Courtesy discount on the Soul Surfing Foundational Training Package (and other online trainings) to practitioners who have completed KAP or related trainings provided by:
Verification of prior training is required at enrollment. This discount applies to the online Foundational Training and other online trainings — it does not apply to the in-person experiential trainings — and cannot be combined with bundle discounts.
We especially encourage practitioners to participate in Dr. Philip Wolfson’s trainings. He is a pioneer in the field, researcher, medical practitioner, and author of “The Ketamine Papers,” and he emphasizes the importance of practitioners experiencing the medicine in order to effectively facilitate KAP. His trainings are of high quality and we honor his work. Practitioners who have completed any of Dr. Wolfson’s trainings also receive six months of complimentary access to the Soul Surfing Practitioners Consultation Group following completion of their Foundational Training.
Dr. Gold’s standard rate for consultation and personal KAP is $500 per hour. As a professional courtesy, practitioners trained through the following programs and therapeutic models receive a reduced rate.

Most trainees complete certification in 9–15 months. The Foundational Training Package runs over the first ~4 months. Experiential work happens within or just after that window. The Certification Protocol typically begins around month 4–6.
The Practitioner Training is for licensed medical providers (MDs, NPs, PAs), licensed mental health clinicians (LMFTs, LPCs, LCSWs, psychologists, psychiatrists), and certified coaches. The certification protocol requires you to have a real client of your own under your active care.
Many trainees are not. The pathway is designed for clinicians who partner with a prescribing physician or work within a clinic that handles the medical component. Your supervising Consultant can guide you on collaborative models that work in your state and license type.
Every Prep Course and Consultation session is recorded and available the next day. You have lifetime access. If you enroll mid-cohort, catch up on recordings and participate live in those same sessions when the next cohort runs them.
Certification is not a guaranteed outcome. If proficiency is not yet evident after the 18-hour protocol, you may continue with additional supervised sessions or video review at the Consultant’s hourly rate. The goal is competence, not gatekeeping.
The 3-Day Foundational Training provides 18 CE credits. Additional CE may be available for specific modules. CE credit availability varies by state and license type.
